A Heartfelt Goodbye to our Dear Friend Anne.
Anne Kraft (Pat Doyle), 82 years young, passed away in New Hampshire with her daughter holding her hand on May 20, 2021 from cancer. Born October 14, 1938 to Munsey F. and Verona (Goers) Doyle in St. Augustine, FL, Anne grew up in St. Augustine and moved to New York City to pursue her passion of a career in theatre. In New York, Anne met and married Karl O. Kraft, Jr., also an actor, and had a daughter, Linda E. Kraft. After many years, Anne moved from NYC to Hollywood, CA to further her career eventually returning to her native St. Augustine.
How can you possibly sum up such a multitalented woman as Anne? She designed and made costumes for the children’s theatre company in NYC that Linda performed in for many years, designed and made Linda’s wedding dress, sang, acted, danced, directed, taught, was in commercials, films, and many recordings, went zip lining on her birthdays in her late 70’s and early 80’s and zip lined with her grandsons in NH and St. Augustine, went horseback riding many times and with her granddaughter, was on the board of many organizations, co-founded The Limelight Theatre with Jean Rahner and later joined Jean as Vice-President of A Classic Theatre. Anne also served as membership chair for Romanza St. Augustine.
Anne worked in many capacities in many offices and most recently in a law office, worked and managed restaurants, won many awards in theatre and in ballroom dancing competitions, performed in a one woman show, The Year of Magical Thinking” in many venues and many different times.
Anyone who knew Anne knew it was hard to keep up with her! She put her all into everything she did. She was adventurous, smart, dear, generous and beautiful inside and out.
She was a wonderful Mom and Nana and loved tremendously and missed terribly.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Kraft (and husband Mike Proctor), grandchildren Luke (and wife Amanda), Erin and Dean Proctor and her brother, Larry Doyle as well as countless friends and all those who had the pleasure of getting to know her for the amazing woman that she was.
She will be greatly missed by all.
Thank you to all who touched her life in whatever way. Thank you to all who helped and supported us in so many ways and thank you to all of the healthcare folks who poured themselves into Anne.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held soon in St. Augustine. Details will be shared as soon as available.
